Football markets: differences that matter
| Market | What you choose | Mistake to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| 1X2 | Home, draw or away | Confusing a regulation-time win with qualification |
| Double chance | Two of the three outcomes | Assuming lower odds remove risk |
| Total goals | Over or under a line | Reading 2.5 as though it were 2.0 |
| Both teams to score | Whether both teams score | Confusing the final result with total goals |
| Handicap | Result adjusted by an advantage | Ignoring the sign and line type |
| To qualify | Team advancing to the next round | Automatically applying 1X2 rules |
An América–Tigres match ending 1–1 may settle as a draw in 1X2 and “yes” in both teams to score. If penalties follow, the “to qualify” market may settle differently. This is an example of rules, not a prediction or scheduled fixture.
Build your betslip step by step
- Select the sport, competition and fixture.
- Check the date and time zone. Do not confuse your device's time with the match venue's time.
- Open the market and confirm the exact selection.
- Enter the amount in MXN and check the potential return.
- Read the rule on odds changes before accepting.
- Confirm and save the ticket ID in your history.
If a selection is suspended while you build a betslip, that does not mean the bet has already been accepted. Look for confirmation and ticket status. A market screenshot does not replace the record of a confirmed bet.
Decimal odds calculator
Multiply the amount by the odds to obtain the gross return. Then subtract your initial stake to calculate net profit. The tool uses mathematical examples: it does not predict results or include withholding, fees or promotional conditions.
With $200 MXN at 1.85, the gross return is $370 MXN and net profit is $170 MXN. If you lose, you receive no such return. High odds express a larger potential payout if successful, not a betting recommendation.
Singles and accumulators
A single bet depends on one selection. In an accumulator, several selections share one ticket and their odds usually multiply, subject to the product rules. For example, 1.50 × 1.80 equals 2.70: $100 MXN would produce a $270 MXN gross return if all winning conditions are met.
Adding selections creates more points of failure. Do not turn a bet you understand into a long accumulator just to reach a reward. Voided selections and related markets may receive special treatment; check how the ticket is recalculated.
Live betting: delays, changes and suspension
During a match, odds can change or temporarily disappear because of goals, sendings-off, reviews and other events. Your stream may lag behind the betting system. Do not interpret your screen as giving you an information advantage.
Pending acceptance requires waiting for confirmation. If the odds change, compare the new price with your chosen one. Also check whether the stake remains the same and whether the system allows you to reject unfavorable changes under its settings.
Baseball, basketball and American football
In baseball, check innings rules, game suspension and market-specific conditions. In basketball, check whether the result includes overtime. In American football, distinguish winner, handicap and total points; two bets on the same team may settle differently.
Mexico's calendar also overlaps with US and European competitions. Confirm the local day: an early-morning fixture may fall on a different date at the venue. Do not assume a generic “Mexico” time matches Tijuana, Cancún or Mexico City.
Voided bets, cash out and queries
Cash out, when offered, lets you close a position for the displayed amount at that moment. It may not be available for every ticket or remain available until the end. Do not treat it as a guaranteed recovery of your stake.
For a settlement you do not understand, gather the ID, event, market, selection, accepted odds and official result. Compare those details with the settlement rules. A score report alone does not resolve whether your market included extra time or a special condition.
See AFUN help to organize your request. If your question concerns boosted odds, also keep the conditions of the promotion.
A budget for the whole matchday
Set a spending maximum before starting. If you allocate $400 MXN to a matchday, divide that amount within your limit; do not multiply it whenever another match starts. Keep household income separate and do not use credit to chase losses.
Sports analysis does not remove uncertainty. An injury, sending-off or refereeing decision can change a match. Review the tools for responsible gambling and take a break if you start betting out of frustration.
